Ingredients:

- 1 wedge (6oz) of Artikaas Youngsters Peppadew® Gouda
- 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 1 10 oz jar Peppadew® peppers, roughly chopped
- 3 12-inch hero rolls, toasted
- 1 tomato, sliced
- lettuce, cleaned and left whole or chopped
- mayo
- olive oil
HOW TO MAKE IT:
- Grate the wedge of Artikaas Youngsters Peppadew® Gouda Cheese with a box grater.
- Generously season the ground beef with salt, then divide the meat into three equally sized patties, each about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place a large cast iron skillet on the stove and heat it over medium heat.
- Once the skillet is hot, add a drizzle of olive oil, followed by the diced onions and a heavy pinch of salt. Cook the onions until soft and slightly charred, approximately 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the onions and set them aside.
- Place one of the meat patties in the cast iron skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes. *Depending on the size of your cast iron skillet, you may be able to cook 2 patties at once. Adjust the amount of ingredients accordingly to accommodate.
- Flip the patty and cook for another 2 minutes. Then, add 1/3 of the chopped Peppadew peppers and 1/3 of the soft onions on top.
- Using a metal spatula, chop the burger patty into small bits, incorporating the onions and peppers into the meat.
- Add one-third of the grated cheese. After 20 to 30 seconds, chop the meat once more and mix to fully incorporate the cheese into the meat
- Add the chopped cheesy meat into a toasted hero roll with mayo, lettuce, and tomato.
- Continue steps 5-9 for the rest of the patties. Enjoy!
