INGREDIENTS:
• 5 croissants
• 1 1/2 cups cubed ham
• 6 oz Artikaas Youngsters Black Garlic Gouda, grated
• 6 eggs
• 2 tbsp freeze-dried Italian herbs or 2 tsp dried Italian herbs
• 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• Salt and pepper
HOW TO MAKE IT:
- Line the bottom of a 9x12 baking dish with parchment paper.
- Tear the croissants into large pieces and place them in the baking dish.
- Layer in the ham and grated black garlic gouda, ensuring some of it goes underneath the croissant pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, herbs, half-and-half, and heavy cream. Add a heavy pinch of salt and a few cracks of black pepper.
- Slowly pour the custard mixture over the croissants, making sure it is evenly distributed. Cover and let it sit for 30 minutes on the counter or up to overnight in the fridge.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- When ready to bake, place the dish in the oven and cook for 20 minutes. Cover loosely with foil and bake for another 20 minutes, or until the center is firm. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
