Artikaas is thrilled to share that their cheeses once again made a Gouda impression on the global stage at the 2025 World Cheese Awards in Bern, Switzerland. With over 5,200 cheeses entered from 46 countries, this year’s competition was one of the most competitive ever, and Artikaas walked away with a sparkle-worthy stack of medals, including a Super Gold for Holy Sheep, now a three-time World Cheese Awards champion.

Artikaas’ Winning Lineup at the 2025 World Cheese Awards:
SUPER GOLD:
- Holy Sheep - Artikaas’ beloved sheep’s milk Gouda delivered its best performance yet, earning a Super Gold and near-perfect score. This is the third consecutive win in a row for Holy Sheep.
SILVER:
- Vintage Lot 18 - A three-time WCA winner, celebrated for its rich, nutty profile with hints of toasted walnuts. Aged for 18 months, this cheese continues to prove why it’s one of the most decorated cheeses in the Artikaas lineup.
- Vintage Lot 36 - Aged 36 months, this crystalline, bold Gouda secures its second consecutive win.
- Hay There Truffle Gouda - A raw milk Gouda aged for 60 days studded with earthy truffles.
- Pareggio - A cross between a sweet aged Gouda and a nutty Parmigiano Reggiano.
BRONZE:
- Youngsters Goat - A young Gouda aged 4–6 weeks, noted for its delicate tang and smooth, firm texture, earning its second consecutive medal.
- Youngsters Baby Swiss - Buttery, mild, and creamy. Proof that sometimes the gentlest cheeses make a big impression.
- Youngsters Hickory Smoked - Cold smoked for a balanced hickory finish, marking its second straight year of recognition.
"Consistency at this level doesn’t happen by accident,” says Jessica Frey, Marketing Director of Dutch Cheese Makers. “Winning across multiple categories again this year tells us that Artikaas isn’t just competing, we’re shaping where authentic Dutch Gouda and specialty cheese are headed. We’re endlessly proud of our portfolio and our team in the Netherlands.”
